DEADLINE: Black Excellence Scholarship Application

To be eligible for this award applicant must be a high school senior with a GPA that is 3.0 or higher.

All applicants must provide a COMPLETE application package which consists of a:

1. Scholarship application form
2. Typewritten essay of 100-200 words answering one of the following questions:

1. Copy of a recent report card and transcript documenting a GPA that is 3.0 or higher.
2. Typewritten resume which includes a summary of accomplishments and volunteer service.
3. Nomination form from any two of the following: principal, counselor, teacher, pastor, mentor or advisor.

6.    Forward a headshot picture via email (Note: a free photo session will be provided for selected applicants. The dates, times and location for these sessions will be provided at a later date)

Applications and supporting materials MUST be received by 3:00 PM on November 20, 2015; applications received after this date/time will not be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.  Applicants selected for the 2016 Louvenia Johnson Scholarship will be notified via email on or by November 30, 2015.  If selected, recipient must agree to attend 1. A college prep workshop at the Milwaukee Urban League (dates and times to be announced) and 2. The 31^st Annual Black Excellence Awards Banquet on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Italian Conference Center, Milwaukee, WI.
